What is the difference between Network Port Lock and Network Port Lock Plus?
Network Port Lock is the standard physical restraint for RJ-45 ports, while Network Port Lock Plus is a higher-grade version.
Network Port Lock is locked with a separate, specially designed key. The lock engages an edge or structure inside the RJ-45 port and has a protruding release area. The opening for the special key is comparatively large.
Network Port Lock Plus instead uses Universal Lock Key 3, which also operates other products. This avoids carrying a separate special key for each security product. One key can operate several SMARTKEEPER Pro products, such as USB Port Lock and Network Port Lock Plus.
Because Network Port Lock Plus uses Universal Lock Key 3 rather than a separate special key, it has no protruding release area. A security sticker can therefore be applied without interference from protruding parts.
The opening for Universal Lock Key 3 is particularly narrow, providing a high level of security. Network Port Lock Plus also has a lockable design, making it an advanced physical restraint for RJ-45 ports.

LAN Cable Lock Plus cannot be pushed fully in.
Before pressing the lock, hold LAN Cable Lock Plus with one hand and gently pull it towards the other side of the device while pressing the lock to ensure it engages fully. Please read the manual carefully before use.
Does LAN Cable Lock Plus support both Category 6 and Category 7?
LAN Cable Lock Plus can be fitted to cable boots from Category 5 to Category 7. Retract the boots or remove protective tabs before fitting. Some special cables are excluded. Please read the manual carefully before use.

If the lock at the front of Network Port Lock Plus is pressed in, it will not fit correctly. Use the matching Universal Lock Key 3 to unlock it, then fit it again. Further information is available in the manual.

Do I need another key when buying additional products?
Buy an additional key if there is a reason to do so. Otherwise you can continue using your existing key.
Why must I provide the universal key's serial number?
For B2B-only products, we manage the coding ourselves. Existing customers receive the same product with their existing code.
After a serial number has been assigned to the universal key, we sell an unlocking key only if the customer details match and the security officer approves.
SLS or the head office can use the Key Serial Number to identify the customer and the matching key. The Key Serial Number is required for repeat orders; please also provide the end customer company name if possible. This checks whether a Key is already owned and allows products to be produced to match the existing Key and Lock pattern.
